Preliminary task
A continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule.
A minimum of 10 shots should be used but you can use significantly more.
Duration of the completed piece 30 seconds.
You will have Two weeks to complete this task
Please note that failure to complete this task will immediately mean the automatic deduction of fifteen marks off your final grade and prevent you from beginning the main task.

Blog Introduction
Your group blog is where you show us, and the examiner all decisions you make as you go through the pre-production, research and planning, production and eventually, the post-production.
The blog is marked and forms a good percentage of your overall coursework grade so make it good. The emphasis here is on creativity so a few ideas you could include are: directors commentaries, screen shots/grabs, film a focus group, animatics, a rough cut, location reconnaissance photos, mise en scene photos. Your teacher will explain any/all of this to you so don't panic!
There are some links on the right to some examples of interesting blogs so check them out.

Groups
The start of a new year and the start of a new set of excellent films. This week, we need to be thinking about who we're going to work with - be careful, your best friend might actually be the very worst person you could work with. Remember, you are marked as a group so do avoid any known lazy bones'... You need to be in groups of four.
